The Security Cabinet also reported the release of four people kidnapped in Mier and the seizure of weapons in Camargo
In various operations in Tamaulipas, federal and state forces made arrests and seized weapons and vehicles reported stolen. In one of these operations, they detained a U.S. citizen attempting to smuggle weapons across the international bridge in Nuevo Laredo.
The Mexican government’s Security Cabinet reported on the relevant events of October 31, November 1, and November 2, 2025, as part of the National Security Strategy.
Operations on the Tamaulipas Border
In Tamaulipas, it was reported that in Nuevo Laredo, at the Benito Juárez International Bridge II, National Guard officers acting as Customs officials, while inspecting a vehicle coming from Dallas, Texas, USA, detained a U.S. citizen and seized eight rifles, two handguns, 16 magazines, and 380 rounds of ammunition.
In Ciudad Mier, members of the Mexican Army, National Guard, and State Police freed four people who had been kidnapped and seized a Barrett rifle, two long guns, 39 magazines, 915 rounds of ammunition, three tactical vests, two ballistic plates, and a stolen vehicle.
Additionally, in Camargo, members of the National Guard, Mexican Army, and State Police located two stolen vehicles and seized a Barrett rifle, two long guns, 35 magazines, and 623 rounds of ammunition.
