The truck was discovered on Heroico Colegio Militar Avenue at the entrance of the Alturas del Sur housing development within the Jardines del Humaya area in the southern part of Culiacán de Rosales municipality. The vehicle’s doors were left open, exposing the grim contents inside. However, the Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office and the State Security Secretariat have not divulged further details about the incident.

This chilling event coincided with President López Obrador’s speech at the inauguration of a new dam in the municipality of El Rosario. During his speech, he downplayed the ongoing violence in the state and critiqued the U.S. Embassy’s travel advisory that warned against visiting Sinaloa. He expressed optimism for peace and stigmatization avoidance despite recent violent incidents.
Sheinbaum Pardo focused on the state’s dynamic community and avoided commenting on the violent events, instead noting her ties to the state through her husband, a native of Mazatlán. She and López Obrador committed to continuing support for Sinaloa, with the President promising further collaborations on local projects and infrastructure.

Governor Rubén Rocha Moya, also present, emphasized the urgent need for peace in the region, referencing a disturbing statistic of 118 murders and 135 forced disappearances reported over just the past 19 days.
