Federal authorities have issued a search warrant nearly three weeks after the disappearance of Rodolfo Chaidez Valdez, a former investigator from Sinaloa.
Chaidez, who is 58 years old, is suspected of being one of the escorts for Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada on the day of his capture.
The disappearance was formally reported by Chaidez’s family on August 13th, and the information was forwarded to the Ministry of the Interior for further action.
Chaidez, who resigned from the Investigation Police over 25 years ago, was mentioned in a letter allegedly written by ‘El Mayo’.
His details have been listed in the National Registry of Disappeared and Non-Located Persons, though no photo is provided.
In a letter attributed to Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada and released by his lawyer, Rodolfo Chaidez Valdez is identified as a longtime member of Zambada’s security team.
Chaidez disappeared on July 25th, the day of Zambada’s arrest, but his family didn’t report him missing until August 9th.
Despite the release of this information by federal authorities, the State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons has not provided any details on locating him.
This case is similar to that of José Rosario Heras López, an active Investigation Police officer and alleged escort for Zambada, who also went missing on July 25th.
Heras López, known as ‘Commander Chayo,’ has minimal information listed in the national database. He was suspended from the police for failing to fulfill his duties, and investigations are ongoing regarding his possible ties to organized crime.
Prosecutor Quiñónez emphasized the need for stricter supervision of police agents to prevent their involvement with criminal groups.
