In two separate incidents last Sunday, two French nationals were arrested at Mexico City International Airport (AICM) for drug possession.
On Monday, July 15, the Benito Juárez International Airport announced the arrests through its official channels without disclosing the individuals’ names.
In the first case, a man with dual Mexican and Spanish nationality was detained after arriving from Paris. Authorities discovered 5.3 kilograms of cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy) in his checked luggage.
In the second case, another individual, whose nationality was not specified, was arrested with five kilograms of cocaine and morphine in his suitcases, also arriving from Paris.
Images shared by AICM show the detained individuals, who were handed over to the relevant authorities. One of the men had tattoos on his arms and long hair.
In total, over 10 kilograms of drugs were seized. The arrests were conducted with the assistance of agents from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar).
“Actions like these demonstrate the commitment of SEMAR and AICM to prevent illegal activities at our airport,” stated AICM on their social media platforms.
Additionally, on July 15, members of the Ministry of Public Security (SSC) arrested three Colombian nationals in connection to two robbery cases near Mexico City International Airport.

In the Miguel Hidalgo borough, coordinated actions led to the arrest of two men and one woman.
The first incident occurred at the intersection of Lago Zurich and Lago Andromaco, where two individuals were observed exchanging what appeared to be narcotics. Upon intervention, a security agent discovered live cartridges, doses of suspected cocaine, and presumed marijuana.
Meanwhile, at Presa Falcón and Lago Andromaco, agents apprehended a woman manipulating suspected drug doses inside a vehicle while wearing a wig. She was arrested, and the vehicle was confiscated.
Additionally, on June 30th, security forces at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) arrested a Swedish man carrying 30 kilograms of methamphetamine. The individual was en route to London, United Kingdom.

The individual was found carrying several packages wrapped in black plastic. After a medical examination, they were handed over to the authorities.
