In two violent incidents in different areas of Mexico City, at least seven people were killed by firearms, making it a blood-stained day.

In the first incident, four individuals were murdered in the Tláhuac district, south-east of the Mexican capital, after being attacked with gunfire at an intersection of 20 de Noviembre and Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez streets in the San Miguel neighborhood.

This violent event mobilized the security forces and emergency services of the capital, who found the victims with fatal gunshot wounds.

The events unfolded when the Secretary of Public Safety (SSC) of Mexico City was alerted, via radio, of shots fired in the middle of a public road.

Therefore, police elements immediately moved to the scene, where they confirmed the presence of four men with gunshot wounds, which was decisive in requesting emergency medical assistance. However, upon the arrival of paramedics, it was confirmed that these people had passed away due to the serious injuries caused by the shots.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the perpetrators, who were traveling on a motorcycle, directly attacked the victims before fleeing the scene.

In response to this crime, the authorities have initiated a process of analyzing the recordings from nearby surveillance cameras in order to identify those responsible for this fatal incident.

The area was cordoned off while corresponding investigations are being carried out, and it is expected that in the next few hours more data can be obtained to help clarify this act of violence and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Videos shared on social media show the bodies of four people. Unofficial information states that at least two of the murdered individuals were 17 years old, while it is also mentioned that this direct attack was a settling of scores between alleged drug dealers in Mixquic. At the time of this report, authorities have not confirmed these versions.

In the second act of violence in the country’s capital, but this one occurred in the northwest area, in the Azcapotzalco municipality, officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) cordoned off an area following a report of a shootout that resulted in the death of three people and left one wounded.

The event, which took place at the intersection of Aleutian and Tasmania streets in the Cosmopolita neighborhood, mobilized the capital’s security and emergency forces after receiving alerts through the radio frequency.

According to the authorities, police officers found two lifeless men inside a black van. In contrast, a third individual was found on the pavement with serious injuries and was urgently transported to a local hospital, where he passed away.

At the location, the presence of forensic services was requested, and relevant investigations were initiated. It was reported that local authorities are analyzing surveillance footage to identify those responsible for the attack, who, according to preliminary reports, fled the scene in a white compact vehicle after shooting directly at the occupants of the black van.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges that Mexico City faces in terms of security and gun violence. Authorities have intensified their efforts to combat these types of crimes, relying on surveillance technology and patrol operations to ensure the safety of citizens.
