On Monday, March 18th, a man nicknamed El Chori, who is identified as the leader of Union Tepito, was arrested by security agents in Mexico City. In various news reports, he is the main person in charge of the mentioned criminal group.
On its part, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Justice of Mexico City (FGJ-CDMX) is offering a reward for information leading to his capture, as he is identified as one of the most wanted suspects in the capital of the country, as he is considered one of the leading operators of the criminal organization.
It was the journalist focused on security issues, Carlos Jiménez, who reported on the capture of El Chori. According to the reporter, the captured individual would be the prominent leader of the Tepito Union. These reports coincide with the information shared by reporter Antonio Nieto shortly before 9:00 pm on Monday.

The authorities of Mexico City offer a reward of 5 million pesos for information about the man Lalo Ramírez Tiburcio and/or Eduardo Ramírez Tiburcio. Despite reports shared by Carlos Jiménez, as of 8:30 pm on Monday, the National Registry of Detentions (RND) has no information regarding the capture of El Chori.
According to what Carlos Jiménez stated, the recently captured man grew out his hair. He was found by officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Safety (SSC) in the southern part of the country’s capital, specifically in the Ajusco area. On his part, reporter Jorge Becerril was captured when security agents escorted the captured individual to be presented before the authorities.
Reports indicate that said individual is allegedly involved in drug trafficking and has been pointed out by merchants from the Historical Center for being behind several threats and extortions.
In September 2021, Mitzy Yunuen “N,” identified at the time as El Chori’s partner, was prosecuted.

The arrest and subsequent prosecution of Mitzy occurred after a series of investigations detailed her alleged involvement in illicit activities associated with the Tepito Union. The operation that led to Mitzy’s arrest involved surveillance and intelligence work.
On September 9, 2022, the parents of El Chori were captured. On this occasion, the father of the leader of the Tepito Union, a man nicknamed General Borja, was accused of his alleged responsibility for crimes such as extortion and land invasion.
In addition to El Chori’s mother, three people were arrested after searches were conducted in properties located in the Cuauhtémoc, Venustiano Carranza, and Gustavo A. Madero boroughs, where security agents found marijuana and a weapon.
