A photo circulating on social media allegedly shows a meeting between José Erasto Figueroa Durán, former regional delegate of Transportation in the central area of Guerrero, and Celso Ortega, identified as the leader of Los Ardillos.
The image shared on X shows the embrace between Figueroa and Ortega in what appears to be the same restaurant where Norma Otilia Hernandez, mayor of Chilpancingo, met with the leader of Los Ardillos.
In the photograph, Celso Ortega is wearing denim pants, a t-shirt, and a black cap, hugging Figueroa Durán, who is patting the back of the criminal leader.
It should be noted that the tables, chairs, floor, and ceiling of the establishment match those of the restaurant where Otilia Hernández and Celso Ortega met, which was revealed in July 2023.

José Erasto Figueroa Durán was dismissed last February 9th without disclosing any reason. However, for five days, public transportation was halted in municipalities such as Chilpancingo, Taxco de Alarcón, and Acapulco.
The General Secretary of Government announces that as of today, citizen Erasto Figueroa Durán will no longer serve as regional delegate of Transportation in the Central Zone of the Technical Commission of Transportation and Roadways, according to a brief statement from the local department.
Four days before the dismissal of Figueroa Durán was reported, four transporters were killed in the municipality of Chilpancingo. One of them was burned, causing a suspension of service throughout the entire locality.
The suspension of public transportation was also reflected in the municipalities of Acapulco, Taxco, and Iguala.
The leader of Los Ardillos revealed on February 15th that the Los Zetas organization had supported President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s campaign in 2006.
“When I was in Michoacán, upon the arrival of “Z-42″, he sent for me and told me that I had to come and do politics in my region for Andrés Manuel López Obrador because they [Los Zetas] were financing López Obrador’s presidential campaign through the PRD […] once AMLO was elected, the whole country belonged to Los Zetas,” Celso Ortega told journalists from the Latinus media outlet.
The leader of Los Ardillos appeared with his face covered by a ski mask and a hat. The criminal did not speak about specific amounts of money or dates. Still, he assured that his statements could be corroborated by Omar Treviño Morales, also known as El Z-42, former leader of Los Zetas, currently in custody and fighting extradition.
In light of these accusations, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) announced that they are looking for Celso Ortega for him to substantiate his statements.
“In the various criminal cases being followed against the criminal organization known as “Los Ardillos”, an immediate breakdown has been opened to locate Celso “O”, the alleged leader of this group, so that, if necessary, he can confirm and properly prove the assertions he made to a media outlet,” says the brief statement issued by the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office under Alejandro Gertz Manero on February 18.
