In a joint operation in Chiapas, the state security forces, composed of the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), managed to seize three trucks loaded with an arsenal that included grenades, long weapons, magazines, and cartridges.
The finding took place during surveillance patrols in La Querencia, located in the municipality of Villa Corzo, where authorities, alerted by citizen reports of the presence of armed individuals, came across abandoned vehicles.
The suspicious individuals, upon noticing the arrival of security forces, fled and were not able to be captured by the officers. The inspected vehicles contained seven long weapons, 34 magazines, approximately 2,200 live cartridges, six grenades for attachment, one fragmentation grenade, and a package with around one kilogram of what appears to be marijuana.

Two of the confiscated trucks had active reports of theft. Everything seized was sent to the corresponding agency of the Public Ministry of the Federation in Chiapas for further investigation.
Upon checking the official database, it was found that two of the vehicles had an active theft report; the trucks and the motorcycle, along with the weaponry, were secured and handed over to the agency of the Public Ministry of the Federation in the state to continue the corresponding investigations,” highlighted the National Guard’s spokesperson in a statement on Sunday, February 11.
It should be noted that in Chiapas, where the discovery of vehicles with firearms was reported, various criminal groups are operating, among which the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and the Sinaloa Cartel stand out, whose conflict has caused havoc in the population.

For example, on January 24, the residents of Chiapas warned about the presence and operation of criminal groups. On that occasion, they pointed out that the criminal group led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” and the Sinaloa Cartel, the groups with the greatest presence in Mexico, are the ones fighting each other and causing harm to civilians.
Specifically, they emphasized that the presence of a paramilitary group has been recorded in the Comalapa and Chicomuselo border.
“In that region of Chiapas, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel used the strategy of waging war against the Sinaloa Cartel, using people and communities by force. The CJNG requires a justification called a social base to give another face to their war,” reads the document signed by the Civil Society of Chicomuselo.
On February 6th, a group of heavily armed men who identified themselves as the Chiapas Cartel threatened the Sinaloa Cartel, claiming that there were members of alleged Kaibil, elite soldiers of the Guatemalan Army, among their ranks.
Welcome to November 20th. Here, it’s all about Cartel Chiapas and pure Kaibil. Fcking over Sinaloa and their mothers. “Fck Sinaloa and their mothers!” says one of these individuals, who fired several shots into the air to conclude their message.
On January 22nd, another recording was circulated in which members of the alleged criminal group threatened a subject nicknamed “El Güero Púlseras”. They also indicated that there were allegedly authorities colluding with the criminals.
You were the one who sold the audio and video camera of the C5 to Güero Pulseras from the Sinaloa Cartel. Instead of using them to monitor and enhance security in Chiapas, they are being used to assist Güero Pulseras in kidnapping and moving around with complete impunity.
