The Time Jorge Cifuentes Wanted To Murder ‘El Mayo’ Zambada.

Jorge Cifuentes was an important Colombian drug trafficker, who gained the trust of Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada. As a result, he operated in Mexico for the Sinaloa Cartel, where he was in charge of moving large quantities of cocaine from Colombia.

Ismael Mario had so much confidence that on the occasion when Alex Cifuentes was apprehended in Costa Rica, he paid over a million dollars in bribes for his release. However, misunderstandings sparked a rivalry between the brothers and the Sinaloan.

According to journalist Anabel Hernández, Jorge Cifuentes organized a plot in order to put an end to the existence of Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada, but as usual, ‘El Señor del sombrero’ would once again prevail and the working relationship ended.

“Jorge Cifuentes and his brother Alex became so important in ‘El Mayo’s operations, that when Alex was arrested in Costa Rica and handed over to the Secretary of the Navy in Mexico, ‘Vicentillo’ (their father) paid one million dollars in bribes to set him free. However, as it often happens in this business, that friendship would only last until Jorge Cifuentes himself organized a plot to murder ‘El Mayo’. As has been the case since the beginning of his criminal career, ‘El Mayo’ emerged victorious, free and operating, while Jorge and his brother Alex are in prison”, journalist Anabel Hernández narrates in her book ‘The Betrayer’.

It is worth noting that prior to the conflict with ‘El MZ’, Jorge had already escaped from him, because he had killed his partner ‘Robachivas’, apparently because he did not like that he was building a house. This is why he ordered him to be killed and this objective was achieved when he was traveling in a car accompanied by his son.

Until 2003, Jorge returned to the organization to work on a major operation in which he was in charge of directing the drug trafficking aboard a Pemex ship, which gave him the security that it would be successful.

The Colombian drug trafficker, Jorge Cifuentes, who had been helping his father load trucks with contraband since the age of four, was one of the people responsible for the operation with the Pemex ship. He had returned to work with ‘El Mayo’ in 2003, despite the fact that he had cruelly murdered his former boss ‘Robachivas’ in 2007. In the book titled ‘The Betrayer’, it is stated that Jorge Cifuentes was the representative of the Sinaloa Cartel in Ecuador.

Cifuentes Villa, also known as ‘El Jota’, was arrested on November 8th, 2012, while he was in the state of Anzoátegui, in Venezuela, in the sector of Valle de Guanape. He was accompanied by a 19-year-old woman who claimed to be his partner.
