Through digital platforms such as X, formerly known as Twitter, a video was released in which alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) delivered a threatening message against rival groups.
In the middle of a setting surrounded by trees, a group of approximately 50 men in tactical uniforms and heavy caliber weapons began a hunt against “sapos” – traitors or snitches.
To all that dirt that thinks they’re tough, a cartel or young recruit, you see that here we don’t play around, so toughen up, once we come for you, don’t trust anyone,” says the subject, who without showing his face, makes the statement.
According to their own words, the armed command would be made up of Kaibiles, as the elite soldiers of the Guatemalan Army are known, recognized throughout the continent for their training and brutality when carrying out special operations and fighting terrorism.

“We will come after you wherever it takes, and when we catch you, you’ll be finished. Here, only the Elite Group of Kaibiles and Delta Force, trained to have no fear. Those who are not with us, are against us. We will catch those who are acting as informants,” says the messenger in the video.
While this individual speaks without showing his face, a small group of companions decapitates a man who they had subdued. Without knowing his identity or the rival group to which he supposedly belonged, the victim is executed by three of the alleged Kaibiles.
Unofficially, it was revealed that this video was allegedly recorded recently in Villahermosa, Tabasco, and that the criminal organization behind it would be the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), since two of its most well-known armed groups are, precisely, the Delta Group and the Elite Group.
However, the authorities have not issued official statements providing new information to corroborate or deny this narrative.
Leaked documents from the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) in 2022 revealed that the CJNG has elite squads that have received training from the Kaibil Brigade of Guatemala, either as deserters from the Mexican Armed Forces or through extrainstitutional training.
The military reports consulted by Contralínea refer to two troops from the CJNG’s Elite Group who entered the city of Salamanca, in Guanajuato, at the beginning of June 2022 to confront rival cartels and “take control of illicit activities in Salamanca and Villagrán.” The hitmen had recently completed their military training in the mountainous region of Jalisco.
The first records of Kaibil soldiers recruited by Mexican criminal groups date back to 2005, when four former Guatemalan military personnel were arrested and declared to have been hired by the Sinaloa Cartel. Since then, the addition of this type of combatants to the ranks of the Northeast Cartel has also been documented.
