In a joint operation of the Security Forces in the municipality of Villa García, six alleged hitmen of the Northeast Cartel (C.D.N) were arrested by members of the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Force (FRIZ), State Preventive Police, Mexican Army, and National Guard.
These people are attributed to the generation of violence in the southwestern region of the state, and it is presumed that they are part of a criminal cell of the Northeast Cartel. Weapons, tactical equipment, and vehicles were also confiscated in the operation.
The events took place during patrols for crime prevention and deterrence, where the authorities were confronted by armed civilians, according to a statement from the Zacatecas Public Security Secretariat.
The response to the aggression resulted in the capture of the six men, as well as the confiscation of six long firearms, tactical equipment, magazines, cartridges, and two vehicles.
This event took place without any reported injuries among the law enforcement forces; however, an alleged sicario from the Northeast Cartel died.
The detained subjects are considered potential agitators of violence in the area and alleged members of the C.D.N, a cell that was reportedly dismantled.
Following the relevant legal procedure, the captured individuals, along with the weapons and seized objects, were delivered to the competent authority for the conduct of the corresponding investigations.
This confrontation occurred after the detention of eight members of this same criminal structure, which has its base of operations in the north of Tamaulipas and the state of Nuevo León, was reported on January 16.
These individuals could be related to homicides and crimes in Zacatecas, Fresnillo, and Guadalupe, the municipality where they were arrested.
The police operation, which took place in two different locations, resulted in the arrest of three women and five men, seven of whom were captured in the municipality of Guadalupe, while the eighth fell in Fresnillo.

During the operations, five long firearms, one handgun, magazines, cartridges, and 30 bags of crystal were confiscated, as well as a Nissan sedan vehicle.
The detainees were identified as Carlos Daniel N, 25 years old, originally from Mexico City; José Luis N, 31 years old, from San Luis Potosí; Alonso N, 23 years old, from the State of Mexico; Roberto Maximiliano N, 30 years old; Josué Isaías N, 31 years old; Scarlett Victoria N, 22 years old; María Guadalupe N, 37 years old, and Vanessa N, 36 years old, the latter two from Zacatecas.
During 2023, members of the Northeast Cartel became visible in videos and narcomanta that they sent to rival groups with whom they are fighting for territory: the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
