The authorities of Nuevo Leon delivered a strong blow to the drug cartel in the municipalities of Monterrey and San Nicolas, where after a mega operation, several people were arrested and a clandestine monitoring center similar to the “C4” was dismantled.
This morning’s mega-operation was carried out by personnel from the Mexican Army and the State Investigation Agency (AEI) with the deployment of 120 elements distributed into 14 searches of properties in Monterrey and one more in San Nicolás.
Unofficially, the arrest of at least 40 people, both men and women of different nationalities, has been reported. The presence of a group of migrants “working” for one of the criminal cells was also identified, apparently against their will.
Information shared by Pedro Arce, Manager of the Office of the General Prosecutor of Justice of Nuevo León (FGJNL), states that bulletproof vests, several short and long firearms, as well as various types of drugs were found in the searched buildings, although he did not specify the amount nor the exact substances.

What was indicated is that in one of the nine raids carried out in the Industrial colony of Monterrey a clandestine monitoring center of the “C4” type was uncovered and dismantled. It had several video surveillance cameras connected to various monitors.
The operation continues the investigations of the state and federal forces after the finding of dozens of percussion caps located during the morning of January 2nd in Bocanegra Street of the Industrial neighborhood; region that according to the authorities was used as a center of “hawks” at the service of the narco.
Before the media, Pedro Arce acknowledged that among the 40 people arrested there are four minors, although all of them will be made available to the competent authorities so they can define their legal situation.
At the same time, he emphasized that the operations this morning were derived from the intelligence work of the State Security Table and their aim is to put a stop to drug trafficking crime after the increasing rates registered in the last months.
It should be remembered that during the month of December, several arrests and seizures of various doses of drugs that were intended to be sold in the center of Monterrey, a few steps from the state and municipal government palaces, were documented.

One of the largest seizures took place during the last week of December when Civil Force agents arrested two people while attempting to exchange a shipment of drugs valued at half a million dollars.
The detainees were surprised in the streets of Hidalgo and Juarez, in the center of the city, with a gun and seven thousand and five hundred dollars in cash.
Alongside the advancement of narcomenudeo in Nuevo Leon, several narcomantas appeared pointing out “betrayals” and “alliances” between criminal groups to control the plaza; one of them referred to vendors who joined “La Chapiza”.
In September of 2023, Los Chapitos hung several narcomantas in order to encourage businesses in Nuevo Leon to stop paying “floor tax” to organized crime that controls the state; in response, “La Limpia” responded with threats against the “traitors” who joined the Sinaloa Cartel to attack the Northeastern Cartel.
