Arrest in Durango: “El Limones,” Financial Operator for the Cabrera Clan

In a joint federal operation with support from the Coahuila state government, authorities in Durango captured Edgar “N”, known as “El Limones”, alleged plaza boss and financial operator for the Cabrera Sarabia criminal group — a key faction within the Mayiza structure.

Mexican officials say Limones was responsible for collecting extortion payments from local ranchers and business owners, while also managing the group’s finances. Mexico’s Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) flagged irregular transactions tied to fraud and extortion, which triggered the investigation.

Seized during the raid:

• A grenade
• Ammunition and encrypted radios

Authorities thanked the Coahuila government (@GobDeCoahuila) for its direct role in the operation, which they describe as a major blow to the group’s financial network.

Beneath the Surface

Unlike logistics-based networks like Chelis Caro’s, the Cabrera Sarabia structure profits from territorial control, extortion, and localized terror. Limones operated as both an enforcer and financial gatekeeper. These aren’t high-volume international movers — they specialize in fear and control on the ground.

With 2026 set to become a flashpoint year in southern Sinaloa, this arrest is a key disruption ahead of the Cabrera-Mazatlán push, which — according to sources — includes coordinated activity in Concordia, Escuinapa, and San Ignacio.

Update from Cabreras

They arrested the plaza boss of Gómez Palacio early this morning.

Alias “El Limones,”

People of the Cabrera group.

Eleven Navy units and two units from Harfuch’s team entered.

They also launched four operations in different parts of the city of Durango, and gunfire was reported.

There will be a change of plaza boss in Gómez.

I believe 35 will now be the one officially in charge.

Limones was no longer useful in Gómez — I imagine the Cabreras handed him over.
