On the night of Friday, July 26, members of the National Guard and the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) seized 47 kilograms of methamphetamine at the Otay Border Gate international bridge in Tijuana.
During a random inspection around 9:00 pm, a Ford Go Further vehicle with California license plates (number 34891) was stopped.
Utilizing a canine unit, officers discovered 11 packages of a granulated and crystalline substance, identified as methamphetamine, or “crystal,” hidden in the spare tire compartment.
The total weight of the seized substance was approximately 47 kilograms.
The vehicle was driven by Rosa Irene N, a 71-year-old woman with dual nationality and residence in Tijuana. She was arrested following the discovery.
The authorities ensured the reading of the Manual of Rights that Assist Persons in Detention and registered the arrest in the National Registry of Detentions.
Rosa Irene N was then made available to the Federal Public Ministry before the Attorney General’s Office in Tijuana for further investigation.
