Four narcomantas were located on the main footbridges of the so-called magical town, the municipality of Tecate.
In each of them, the text points to alleged members of the Arellano Felix Cartel with the nicknames “El Apache” and “El Kado” as those responsible for ordering homicides in that municipality.
“JAMES BRIAN CORONA, also known as “EL APACHE” and GIL GARCÍA, also known as “EL KADO”, please stop killing innocent people in Tecate through the means of JESÚS ALFREDO MARTÍNEZ DELGADILLO, also known as “EL SONRICS”. The entire government already knows that EL SONRICS is the one responsible for the massacre of innocent people just to keep others satisfied…”

They also point to Facebook pages allegedly operated by criminal groups and used to make accusations and display homicides in the municipalities of Tecate and Tijuana.
And upload it to their Facebook drug pages under the names “La Raza de la Tía,” “La Raza de la Tía Respaldo” and “Tecate without Scum.” Where they portray innocent people as villains but don’t have the guts to mention that you killed activist Angelica León…
It was in November 2023 when the photograph of Angelita Leòn, activist and president of the search collective “Union and Strength for Our Disappeared” in Tecate B.C., was displayed on the last page of the publication “Tecate without Scum.” In this article, there were threats made against her life, and in one of the comments, it was mentioned that she should not even be visited at her home or her business. Tragically, she was murdered on February 8th, 2024, just 10 weeks after the threats were made.

One of the messages was found in the center of Miguel Hidalgo Park, the central tourist park in the so-called magical town, and just a hundred meters from the municipal palace where municipal surveillance is active 24 hours.
Several security cameras, operated by the so-called C2 and mainly by the municipal government, are placed at different angles of the park. The current president, Edgar Darío Benítez, assured that these cameras can identify faces, detect weapons, and send real-time alerts, with an investment of over 12 million pesos. Despite the presence of the cameras, no one was arrested when a drug banner was placed on one of the corners of the kiosk. The other messages were found on Nuevo León Avenue, University, and Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood.

The narcomantas are signed by OPERATIVA CDS 2024.
