Authorities arrested Bojun “N” in Miguel Hidalgo and seized US$920,000 and 26,976,000 pesos, AF Medios reported, citing a coordinated security operation.
Reporting and context
Mexican security forces arrested Bojun “N,” known as “El Chino,” during a search in Mexico City’s Miguel Hidalgo borough, according to AF Medios. Authorities identified the 41-year-old as the suspected leader of a money laundering network linked to arms and human trafficking.
The operation involved the Navy, the federal Security and Citizen Protection Ministry, the federal Attorney General’s Office and Mexico City police. Investigators said the suspected network operated in central Mexico City, Tijuana in Baja California, and Cancún in Quintana Roo.
AF Medios reported that authorities seized US$920,000 and 26,976,000 Mexican pesos in cash. The source put their combined value at approximately 43,720,000 pesos. That total is the reported peso equivalent of the two currencies, rather than an additional seizure.
Officers also seized cellphones, documents, immigration identification cards, drug doses, a digital gram scale, a banknote counter, watches, cartridges and vehicles. Authorities said fixed and mobile surveillance and tracking identified the property, and a judge authorized the search after investigators submitted evidence.
Bojun “N” and the seized items were handed over to federal prosecutors to determine his legal status and continue the investigation. The Security Cabinet described the operation as part of its effort to disrupt organized crime’s financial structures.
