Two men identified after Chihuahua shooting

Authorities have identified two men who were killed in an armed attack Friday night in the Quintas Carolinas neighborhood of Chihuahua, El Heraldo de Chihuahua reported. The victims were Carlos Armando V.A. and Felipe Daniel Z.P., who was known as “El Chapo,” according to the Central District Prosecutor’s Office.
The men were found inside a white Honda Accord parked beside a sports court near the intersection of Monte Kenia and Monte Everest streets, at the entrance to the neighborhood. Residents called emergency services after hearing gunfire, and municipal police arrived as first responders. Officers confirmed that both men had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
According to El Heraldo de Chihuahua, post-mortem examinations indicated that the victims had been shot with high-caliber firearms, possibly weapons authorities described as R-15 rifles or, colloquially, “cuerno de chivo.” The prosecutor’s office said it established the identities through its homicide investigation unit. The area was later secured by personnel from several security agencies; the report did not identify suspects or announce arrests.
