Reporting and context

Three men, including Iván “N,” alias “El Tartas,” were arrested in Puebla’s Unidad Antorchista neighborhood in a joint operation targeting an alleged Jalisco New Generation Cartel cell, according to Infobae México, citing authorities.

The detainees were identified as Carlos “N,” 30; Iván “N,” 28; and Francisco “N,” 27. Investigators alleged that they coordinated drug-distribution logistics, searched for properties where other members could meet and participated in violence associated with the cell. The report said two had criminal records involving drug, firearms and property offenses, without identifying which men.

Infobae México reported that authorities seized more than 280 packets containing substances resembling methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana. They also reported a firearm, two magazines, 39 live rounds and a vehicle with Guerrero license plates. The seized items were turned over to the authorities responsible for the investigation.

The operation involved Puebla’s Public Security Secretariat, the Navy and the state prosecutor’s office. State officials presented it as part of coordinated efforts against organized crime in Puebla.

The outlet placed the arrests in the context of earlier official reports of CJNG activity in the state. Security secretary Francisco Sánchez González acknowledged the presence of the CJNG, the Sinaloa Cartel and La Familia Michoacana in January 2025. In a separate case on August 31, 2026, the state security agency reported arresting three suspected CJNG members linked to serious crimes in the metropolitan area.
