Reporting and context

Mexican federal authorities arrested David “N,” known as “Mando 20,” in Tecomán, Colima, over his alleged involvement in a vehicle explosion that killed six people and injured several others outside the Community Police headquarters in Coahuayana, Michoacán. Federal Security Secretary Omar Hamid García Harfuch announced the arrest on October 23, 2026, according to ZETA Tijuana.

The explosion occurred on December 6, 2025. Authorities identified David “N” as an alleged leader of a Jalisco New Generation Cartel cell operating in Tecomán and nearby municipalities.

ZETA Tijuana reported that two other people, identified as Sinuhe “N” and Cristian “N,” were arrested in connection with the same incident. The arrests followed searches of two properties in Tecomán.

The searches stemmed from an investigation coordinated by the Navy’s Naval Intelligence Unit, the federal Security and Citizen Protection Secretariat and the Attorney General’s Office, through its Criminal Investigation Agency. Authorities seized firearms, vehicles, cash, documents, CJNG propaganda and other evidence during the operations, the report said.

García Harfuch said the attack that killed six people could not go unpunished. He also credited the Michoacán state prosecutor’s office, Michoacán’s Public Security Secretariat and Colima’s Security Secretariat with supporting the investigation and coordination among the agencies.
