Reporting and context
Authorities arrested David “N,” known as “Mando 20,” and two other men in Tecomán, Colima, in an investigation into a December 2025 vehicle bombing that killed six people in Coahuayana, Michoacán, according to Azteca Noticias.
Investigators identify David “N” as the suspected leader of a Jalisco New Generation Cartel cell operating in Tecomán and surrounding municipalities. They allege that he helped plan and carry out the December 6, 2025 explosion outside Coahuayana’s community police headquarters. The attack also left several people injured.
Azteca Noticias reported that the arrests followed searches of two properties, coordinated by the Navy’s intelligence unit, the federal Security and Citizen Protection Secretariat and the Attorney General’s Office through its Criminal Investigation Agency. The other detainees were identified as Sinuhe “N” and Cristian “N.”
The report, citing investigators, links the cell to armed attacks along the Colima–Michoacán border and disputes over trafficking routes and extortion payments. Investigators located the suspects through telephone monitoring, fieldwork and surveillance of properties allegedly used as safe houses.
Authorities said they seized firearms, ammunition, vehicles, cash, documents and material bearing CJNG propaganda. The three men and the seized material were turned over to federal prosecutors investigating organized crime, aggravated homicide, military-use weapons offenses and terrorism.
At the time of publication, the initial court hearing remained pending. Azteca Noticias said prosecutors would seek an order allowing the case to proceed and mandatory pretrial detention; the report did not describe either request as already granted.
