“Canguro” detention highlights alleged Washington drug network

Infobae México reports that Ángel Guerrero Carrillo, known as “Canguro,” was detained in Zapopan, Jalisco, in an operation involving Mexico’s Navy, the Attorney General’s Office and other security agencies. Infobae México says Mexican authorities identified Guerrero Carrillo as a logistics coordinator allegedly connected to the transport, distribution and sale of synthetic drugs in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington. According to the Mexican Security Cabinet, intelligence shared by Mexican and U.S. authorities, including naval intelligence, helped locate him.

Infobae México reports that authorities seized a Smith & Wesson revolver, six .38 Super cartridges, 50 doses of methamphetamine, 15 fentanyl tablets, 4,900 pesos in cash and a Samsung A15 phone during the detention. The report says the case was opened under file FGR/FEMDO/FEIDMS-SIN/0000654/2025. Infobae México also describes a broader network that U.S. agencies attribute to Fausto Isidro Meza Flores, known as “El Chapo Isidro,” with alleged distribution activity reaching at least nine U.S. states through separate logistics cells.
