Two enslaved men find themselves with their backs against a wall during daylight hours. Both are expected to explain the deadly errors that brought them to the end of their lives.
But first the scripted confessions have to be heard a certain way by their captors.
That’s essentially how the narratives are always fabricated for every captive before they head off into the silence of eternity.
Sicario: Why do we have you two here today?
Captive: Because we’re turncoats.
Sicario: What exactly were you doing?
Captives in unison: We were selling drugs.
Sicario: And who exactly has you two here?
Captives in unison: The Chapiza mob.
Sicario: Is there a message that you’d like to send out to that gang of pigs that you belonged to?
Captives in unison: Don’t allow yourselves to be deceived, the plaza has an owner. It belongs to the Chapiza mob.
Sicario: Is there another word that you like for the pigs to know on who owns this plaza?
Captives in unison: That would be the Chapos mob. For your own good don’t bother getting caught up with them.
