We had already previously mentioned that despite the operations to take down accounts on social media platforms like TikTok, where young people are recruited into the ranks of organized crime, this strategy by the cartels continues and remains in effect.
Imagen Noticias contacted one of the recruiters, and you’ll see what they promise young people seeking to join them. With salaries reaching up to 12,000 pesos per month and advanced training as a hitman, this is how recruiters from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel lure young people on social media.
Despite the actions implemented by the federal government almost a year ago, which resulted in the deactivation of nearly 40 TikTok accounts, criminals continue with this same tactic to recruit those who want to join the criminal group. Imagen Noticias contacted one of the recruiters.
This person first makes sure the interested party is of legal age, then asks them to move their conversation over to WhatsApp. Once there, they mention the main requirement for joining: Send a video with a specific phrase, saying they want to work with the Jalisco cartel of their own free will and that they will be incommunicado for two months for the training they will receive.
‘I was recruited by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.’
‘I’m going to work as a hitman of my own free will. I accept entry into the Jalisco New Generation Cartel as a hitman.’
’I’m going to work for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and for Commander Calavera. I’m going of my own free will.’
They also ask for photos of official documents.
‘Yes, look, you’re going to be a lookout, you’re going to patrol and you’re going to be around there in Jalisco.’
They promise comprehensive hitman training in shooting, self-defense, combat, operational, and intelligence tactics.
They claim to teach ambushes, maneuvers with armored vehicles, as well as advanced technology and drone operation. Recruiters summon interested individuals to Zapopan, from where they transport them to training camps.
They promise to cover flight costs so the young men can reach Jalisco without any problems. We’re not buying tickets right now, but this time you pay for your ticket to Zapopan. And once you pay for the ticket, we’ll refund your money when we see you in person.
This recruitment practice happens openly. There are even several accounts from different recruiters on TikTok where they promise different salaries, all within the same Jalisco cartel. Okay, we tracked these types of accounts and found at least 15 profiles on TikTok.
All of them are alleged recruiters for the Jalisco cartel. Some offer salaries starting at 7,000 pesos per month. Some promise to buy flights directly for the young people. So, with this situation that was supposed to have been combated, well, they’re still around.

That’s a scary prospect answering to on Tic Tok. It could just be a rival acting as them and when you arrive they kill you off. They did that to the 5 in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco. They were lured under these false pretence of working for MZ, and instead it was CJNG, and they made them kill each other on video. It was horrible.
