Ovidio Guzmán López, Joaquín Guzmán López And El Nini Seek Salvation In U.S. With Alleged Plea Deal

U.S. authorities are reportedly negotiating with Ovidio and Joaquín Guzmán López, as well as El Nini, to reach a plea deal to reduce their sentences.

Ovidio and Joaquin Guzman Lopez join Nestor Isidro Perez, “El Nini,” in seeking to reach a plea deal with US justice; sources say the Sinaloa Cartel members are aiming for a deal.

Ovidio Guzman Lopez and El Nini’s negotiations are apparently more advanced, with both former Sinaloa Cartel operatives reportedly already having drafts of their plea agreements ready.

Meanwhile, Joaquín Guzmán López is said to have initiated such agreements, after being arrested by authorities on July 25 in Texas, and bringing with him Ismael Zambada Guzmán, “El Mayo”.

According to media outlets such as Milenio, different U.S. institutions are working with the three prisoners to reach an agreement in which the defendants will plead guilty to:

plead guilty

avoid going to trial

reduce their sentences

The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) office of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the United States Department of Justice are working on the legal defense of Ovidio and Joaquín Guzmán López, as well as that of Nini.

Apparently, Ovidio Guzmán López and El Nini already have a draft of the plea agreement, which they could sign and formalize in the next few days.

With this, Ovidio Guzman Lopez and El Nini would try to cooperate with U.S. authorities, after being extradited from Mexico accused of crimes such as:

drug trafficking

illegal possession of weapons

organized crime

violent crimes

money laundering

kidnapping

murder

obstruction of justice

Notably, the latest charges only apply to El Nini, who served as Los Chapitos’ security chief and allegedly a hitman for the Sinaloa Cartel.

It is also reported that Joaquín Guzmán López would obtain certain benefits by helping with the capture of El Mayo Zambada, despite the fact that an investigation has been initiated against him in Mexico for the case.

It should be noted that on July 25, Joaquín Guzmán López allegedly ambushed the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, where he allegedly kidnapped him and took him by force to the United States.

The events were reported by Mayo Zambada in a letter, in which he allegedly recounted what he experienced on July 25 and whose allegations are being investigated by Mexican authorities.

Meanwhile, it is indicated that the processes of Ovidio Guzmán López and El Nini are at an advanced stage, as the former has already left the custody of the US Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the latter that his wife will be relocated in case the agreements of an active collaboration move forward.
