Assassins from La Línea, an armed wing of the Nuevo Cartel de Juarez (NCDJ), appear under the cover of darkness at the entrance to the town of Carichí. The iconic colorful letters behind them lie at the northern end of the municipality, where a small roundabout welcomes visitors.
It’s not uncommon to see La Línea making periodic incursions into Carichí. Every time they do, the burning of vehicles and houses occurs without fail. In addition to this, gunfights also take place with their rivals La Gente del Tigre, armed wing for the Sinaloa Cartel.
The mob known as La Gente del Tigre has been present in the region for years.
