CANCÚN.- After carrying out various investigations, the State Attorney General’s Office managed to dismantle an international gang dedicated to human trafficking in this municipality, with the capture in the act of two individuals, including a male who is considered the leader of a criminal gang operating in several countries.
This is about Yesenia “N” and Roberto “N”, who were arrested on Copán Avenue in Supermanzana 15, in the municipality of Benito Juárez. They are suspected of being involved in acts that may constitute crimes against health, specifically drug dealing.
At the time of the capture, elements of the Criminal Investigation Police assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Fight Against Narcomenudeo found several bags of marijuana, which were seized, as well as a car with license plates from Mexico City.
The initial investigations link the now detained individuals to an international criminal organization, dedicated to the sale of drugs and human trafficking; after obtaining this information, this autonomous agency was able to rescue four women, alleged victims of human trafficking for the purpose of forced prostitution: two Colombian nationals, one Mexican, and one Venezuelan.
The women belonging to the criminal gang that Roberto “N” is a part of, were forced to provide sexual services and were charged a weekly amount.
After completing the corresponding procedures, Roberto “N” and Yesenia “N” were brought before the Public Prosecutor’s Office, who within the constitutional term provided will define their legal situation.
