El Mencho is dead. Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the ghost who turned the Jalisco New Generation Cartel into the most vicious, cash-soaked machine this hemisphere has ever seen, ate it today in a savage Army raid deep in the misty sierras around Talpa de Allende, Jalisco.
The entire state of Jalisco is bracing for the cartel backlash.
N+ (NMás) is reporting that federal sources confirmed the death (“abatimiento”) of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho” on Feb. 22, 2026, and that the operation took place in Tapalpa, Jalisco.
Reuters says he was targeted in a security operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco, with a wave of vehicles set on fire/roadblocks after, citing local outlets and noting a state-level confirmation that an operation occurred.
AP reports a Mexican army operation killed El Mencho, citing an anonymous federal official, and also notes the familiar retaliatory pattern of burning vehicles/roadblocks.
WSJ also reports Mexican forces killed him in an operation (details still developing).

I do believe El Mencho was killed because of all the big news companies covering, US Embassy advisory to shelter, and the blockades and destruction are increasing.

What becomes of the four letter cartel now? If the reports are true, this morning hit Mencho big and by surprise. And if CJNG doesn’t snap into unity fast, expect the usual next step: leaders turning on each other—everyone pointing fingers, everyone hunting for the leak.
I wonder if Mencho made a contingency plan in case of his death.
But even so, doesn’t mean others will listen to the orders of a dead man.
