According to the FGE Roberto G.H. “El 04” has tried to dispute the control of Ojinaga, which has left at least 17 people dead.
In 2019, the same man was captured by the Sedena, after having initiated an armed confrontation in the Lomas de Ojinaga neighborhood, which left two people injured and the seizure of an arsenal, drugs and different amounts of money.
According to the report issued on that occasion, the incident occurred early in the morning, when a Gendarmerie patrol and soldiers from the Fifth Military Zone were conducting a surveillance patrol at the intersection of Coronado and Vicente Guerrero streets. At around 4:15 a.m. they were shot at by the occupants of a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, from the state of Texas.
After the authorities repelled the aggression, a chase ensued which ended when the pickup truck in which the assailants were traveling overturned. Elements of the Armed Forces and the Gendarmerie were quickly deployed around the wrecked vehicle, managing to subdue one of the occupants, identified as Roberto G.H.
Inside the vehicle, the officers found an arsenal made up of three long arms and one short weapon. In addition, several bundles of money in local currency and dollars were seized, as well as approximately half a kilogram of cocaine.
The detainee, as well as the weapons, drugs and money seized, were handed over to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to continue with the corresponding investigation; however, it appears that he managed to obtain his freedom shortly afterwards.
At the moment, the authorities of the three levels of government are working on the corresponding investigations in the area to prevent the recurrence of events of this type.
