CJNG Leader Emilio Alejandro aka “H” Is Arrested

Federal forces apprehended Emilio Alejandro “N,” also known as “H” and/or “Danone,” in Cancun. He has been identified by Quintana Roo authorities as the regional leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the northern part of the state.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) identifies him as the operational leader of the structure known as “Deltas: Operativa Jaguar,” a cell responsible for the territorial expansion of the CJNG in tourist municipalities such as Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Cozumel, Benito Juárez, and Isla Mujeres.

The arrest occurred following intelligence and surveillance operations by the SSC’s Investigation Group, in coordination with the Mexican Navy and the Secretariat of National Defense.

During a patrol on José López Portillo Avenue, in Superblock 98 of Benito Juárez, agents spotted two men manipulating the open trunk of a gray Kia Soul vehicle.

Both were exchanging transparent bags containing what appeared to be marijuana. Upon noticing the police presence, one of them fled on foot; the other was apprehended and his identity was confirmed as Emilio Alejandro “N.”

Authorities seized 64 doses of marijuana, 23 doses of crystal methamphetamine, 19 packets of cocaine, a 9mm Glock pistol, a magazine, 12 live rounds of ammunition, 300,000 pesos in cash, four cell phones, and the vehicle they were using.

Authorities noted that weapons and tactical equipment bearing the logos of the “Operativa Jaguar” cell had recently been seized, reinforcing the line of investigation that identifies him as a regional leader of the CJNG.

The SSC indicated that the alleged criminal was directing operations to dispute and expand the cartel’s territorial control in strategic tourist corridors, coinciding with an increase in attacks, extortion, and drug trafficking in these municipalities.

The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking received the suspect and will open the corresponding case file for crimes against public health and violations of the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives. The state agency emphasized that this arrest is part of a coordinated operation between state and federal forces to curb the presence of the CJNG in Quintana Roo, a region facing increasing pressure from disputes between criminal cells in areas with high tourist traffic.
