
An armed group broke into the GZ vehicle depot located in the La Puerta neighborhood in Mexicali to steal a considerable number of vehicles and then fled the scene, but not before tying up the workers.
Shortly before midnight of this Monday, September 23rd, the crime took place in the facilities of said property located at kilometer 20, on the Mexicali-San Felipe highway.
According to the authorities, the members of the heavily armed criminal group entered the premises of the business and went to the area where the caretaker was located, they beat him and tied his hands and feet.
The subjects began to search several vehicles and seized at least five that were in police custody.
It was not a focused issue, the criminals took the cars that were functional and could be driven.
The preliminary count indicates that there were more than five vehicles, but there could be around 10, in addition to the fact that they maneuvered several others that they tried to turn on or search.
At the scene they found several sets of keys, bullet casings from a .223 caliber weapon, among other artifacts.
It is presumed that these vehicles were stolen with the intention of using them for the fight between the Sinaloa Cartel.
