A Woman And Two Men Are Accused In The United States Of Trafficking Weapons For The Northeast Cartel.

Three individuals have been accused of providing weapons to the Northeast Cartel in the United States. The charges include four counts against 18-year-old Ángela Ruby, 22-year-old Oscar Axel, and 28-year-old Mario Alberto.

According to judicial records shared by the Southern District of Texas Prosecutor’s Office, the accused individuals were responsible for acquiring a range of weapons for the criminal group. The US Department of Justice published a report describing the charges on Tuesday, April 30th.

The investigation conducted by the authorities suggests that from January 1 to April 2, the three individuals conspired to deliver weapons to the Northeast Cartel. They stand accused of several crimes, including conspiracy, smuggling goods from the United States, firearms trafficking, and direct purchase of firearms for the criminal group.

According to the criminal complaint, it is alleged that both the woman and the man were involved in acquiring at least 12 firearms over several months to deliver them to a criminal group. The weapons that they obtained included rifles and several handguns. If found guilty, they could spend several years behind bars, and for the crime of smuggling goods, they could receive a sentence of up to 10 years. While for conspiracy, they could face a sentence of up to five years in prison.

It has been reported that three individuals from Laredo, Texas, attempted to purchase a semi-automatic rifle on April 2nd. In addition to the charges they could face for arms trafficking, they may also be sentenced to 15 years for these charges and another 25 years for straw purchases.

The authorities caught Angela, Oscar, and Mario while attempting to cross into Mexico via Laredo, Tamaulipas. They could be fined 250,000 dollars if found guilty, which equals more than 4 million Mexican pesos. The three individuals are scheduled to appear before federal judge Diana Song Quiroga on May 2nd.

The Northeast Cartel is known to have a strong presence in Tamaulipas. Recently, a study conducted by Get Your Drugs Tested has found that fentanyl doses from the cartel might have made their way to Canada. Pills with the letters CDN inscribed on them believed to be from the Northeast Cartel, have been found on the streets of Vancouver.

The letters CDN have been found in tattoos and even in drug doses in Mexican territory, although in these cases, the letters appear with details around them.

Similarly, the criminal group has been linked to migrant trafficking, as in mid-March, a man who identified himself as an operator of the Northeast Cartel was arrested by US authorities for guiding migrant individuals in Texas.
