The criminal organization that could be involved in the discovery of seven lifeless bodies in the southern zone of the city of Puebla is the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), according to information shared by state authorities.
In a press conference held on Saturday afternoon, the head of the State Attorney General’s Office, Gilberto Higuera, stated that the multiple homicide is related to “conflicts and recruitment between criminal gangs” according to preliminary investigations.
He stated that alongside the bodies, messages signed by a criminal group with origins in the state of Jalisco were found, in which they claimed responsibility for the murders as part of a dispute over a series of crimes such as drug trafficking and extortion.
“We have found at the location and, of course, processed, seven bodies. Five of them with decapitation and one with dismemberment. In each of the bodies we found a message written on paper, referring to the reason for their deprivation of freedom, of course unjustified and illicit,” explained Gilberto Higuera.
He added that “each and every one of them had a message placed on them. In all messages, they all refer to being involved in criminal activity, such as drug dealing, transportation theft, extortion. That is the reference of the papers that were left on the bodies.”
Regarding the cards found next to the seven victims, it was reported that they allegedly had the initials “CJNG”, in reference to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, a criminal organization led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, also known as ‘El Mencho’.
Given that investigations are still ongoing, the authorities in Puebla did not disclose the identities of the seven victims. In this sense, the Attorney General of Puebla stated that it cannot be confirmed that among the murdered individuals is Alejandro Vega Flores, also known as ‘El Tiburón’, a former state police officer known for appearing in a video where he is subdued by members of the CJNG.
On the morning of Friday, April 5th, a vehicle was located near the Periférico Ecológico, in the Lomas de Valle neighborhood, which was obstructing traffic. According to the report made to 911, there was a possible presence of human remains or bodies inside the vehicle, so the authorities were requested.
Elements of the Municipal Police moved to the place of the discovery to cordon off and secure the area. Moments later, personnel from the State Police arrived to control the vehicular flow. During these actions, seven lifeless bodies were found next to the referenced narcomessages.
The vehicle where the victims were found had a report of theft, in addition to the license plates being from Mexico City (CDMX). Despite the police deployment, there are no records of individuals being arrested for these incidents.
