The Spokesperson of the State Peace Construction Table of the Zacatecas Public Security Secretariat (SSP) announced that two burned vehicles were found on Federal Highway 49, in an act that appears to be part of a series of violent events attributed to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
The events were registered on the evening of this Monday, March 18th, when through the 9-1-1 Emergency System it was reported that two vehicles were found on fire, specifically at kilometer 153.
After receiving the notice, state authorities immediately activated the Antiblockade Plan, managing to locate both units on fire off the edge of the asphalt strip, one in the direction of Zacatecas towards San Luis Potosí and the other in the opposite direction. Despite this, no damages to vehicular traffic were reported. No injured persons have been reported at the scene either.
Currently, police elements are regulating traffic in the affected area, while investigations are being conducted to determine the exact causes of the incident.
In a statement, the SSP declared that there is evidence suggesting the involvement of the criminal group led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho”, allegedly in response to recent arrests of its members.
It should be noted that there is evidence to indicate that this and other criminal acts that have occurred in the state have been caused by the criminal group known as Jalisco New Generation Cartel, in response to recent arrests. There is also information that they are entering through San Luis Potosí, where they return after their criminal operations,” they warned.

On social media, several videos and images have already started to circulate where burned units can be seen, one in each direction and, practically destroyed, without affecting the passage.
The authorities have assured that the situation is under control and the communication routes have been cleared. We are working in coordination with the authorities of San Luis Potosí to capture those responsible for these incidents.
On the other hand, the Aguascalientes Public Security Secretariat has reported that during their constant surveillance in the Cosío Security Gate, State Police officers have not recorded any incidents of this nature. In coordination with the C5 of Zacatecas, the absence of checkpoints or fires on that route has been confirmed.
The Public Security Secretariat of Aguascalientes has reiterated its commitment to strengthen security and surveillance efforts in streets, highways and dirt roads throughout all municipalities, focusing particularly on the border areas with the states of Jalisco and Zacatecas, thus guaranteeing the safety and well-being of its citizens.
