Children Play At Being Hitmen In An Armored ‘Monster’ In Tamaulipas| VIDEO

A video was spread through social media in which a pair of children can be seen carrying toy weapons and moving aboard a small-scale car that simulates being an armored vehicle, similar to the so-called ‘monsters’ used by cartels.

Presumably recorded in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, the first part of the footage shows one of the two children riding a skateboard, dragging the structure that resembles the ‘monster.’ In this latter, one travels to another child, who holds a blue toy rifle.

In the second part of the recording, the person holding the cell phone approaches the small vehicle, and from the top, the child who was previously riding the skateboard appears. At that moment, he also carries what seems to be a black toy rifle.

The video was edited so that, instead of having the original audio, a song allusive to the Escorpión Group, one of the factions of the Gulf Cartel that is fighting for control of the territory of Tamaulipas, can be heard.

“We continue to be active, and in power, here Paco is the one in charge and remember that well […] I am 85, and I will still be here; I formed the “paquiza” and the “keniza” in a group, and I continue the legacy of Scorpion 3,” can be heard in the excerpt of the piece.

“Scorpion 85” or “Commander 85” is an alias constantly mentioned in narcocorridos as the pseudonym of a man known as “Paco”, who would be one of the leaders of the Scorpion Group that operates in areas such as Nuevo Progreso.

“He has been hurt by the departure of the man in charge. Bravo was the Jefe Tigre and that move was bad […] Escorpión is his code, the 85, they call him Paquito for those in the Gulf,” points out another musical theme, performed by Golpe de Guerra, which refers to ‘Escorpión 85’, who apparently worked with Ariel Treviño Peña, alias ‘El Tigre’, former leader of hitmen for this criminal organization, who was killed in October 2021.

When we say “la keniza”, the first song alludes to the hitman squad under the command of José Alberto García Vilano, also known as ‘La Kena’ or ‘Ciclón 19’, identified as the alleged top leader of the Escorpión Group who was arrested on January 18, 2024 in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León.
