The General Prosecutor’s Office of the state of Sonora has issued five rewards for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of at least four members of criminal groups, such as the Sinaloa Cartel and the Caborca Cartel.
In all cases, the local Public Ministry detailed that a reward of up to 500 thousand pesos is being offered to anyone who provides truthful, useful and effective information for their capture.
First, Jesus Ivan Arce Verdugo, alias “El Chino Arce”, is mentioned, wanted by ministerial authorities for his probable involvement in the crimes of premeditated murder, treachery, and advantage, among others.
According to unofficial information, El Chino Arce belongs to the criminal cell known as Los Salazar, identified by the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) as a criminal organization involved in the cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs to Arizona, United States, as well as in the trafficking of migrants in association with the Sinaloa Cartel.
The Salazar family was led by Adán Salazar Zamora, alias “Don Adán”, who was considered one of the main operators and lieutenants of the co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Don Adán is accused of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute; this drug trafficker coordinated the criminal group known as Los Salazar, along with his sons Jesus Alfredo, also known as “El Muñeco”, and Adán “El Indio” Salazar.
The Salazars have been identified as one of the main allies of the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel for the trafficking of fentanyl to the United States.
Meanwhile, the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office also offered a reward for Genaro Alán Molina Valenzuela, alias “El Chapo”, a subject wanted for the crime of premeditated, treacherous and advantageous homicide.
El Chapo would also be a member of Los Salazar, according to information obtained by Infobae Mexico.
In the case of Genaro Valencia López and José Manuel Lucio Valenzuela, also known as El Chino Rivotril, who are wanted for the crimes of qualified homicide and others, they are accused of belonging to La Plaza, an armed group linked to the Caborca Cartel founded by Rafael Caro Quintero, also known as the Narco of Narcos.
The Plaza was identified by authorities in 2022 and a year later, its name once again made headlines after a narcomessage was revealed, announcing a truce with the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. They also joined the ban and production of synthetic opioids, which were announced by Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s sons under pressure from the US government.
The fifth person sought by the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office is José Vicente Contreras Araiza, accused of the crime of qualified homicide with advantage and brutal ferocity in attempted degree. This individual would be the only one who does not belong to a criminal group and is being sought for shooting a security guard.
Meanwhile, the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office also announced on January 29th that they are offering a reward of up to one million pesos for Isaías Valentín Orona Amador, also known as “El Cardenal” or “El Comanche”, one of the main generators of violence in the state, who is wanted for his probable responsibility in the crimes of homicide, disappearance committed by private individuals, and others.
According to the little information that has been revealed so far, Isaías Valentín Orona Amador is a criminal linked to Los Cazadores, a cell that worked for Los Chapitos before November 2023, when they began to operate independently.
