Why Did Benjamin Arellano Felix Threaten ‘Vicentillo’ With Killing His Father?

Vicente Zambada Niebla, also known as ‘El Vicentillo’, met with the Arellano Félix brothers in the mid-1990s after accompanying his father’s associate, Amado Carrillo Fuentes. During this meeting, there was an argument between Carrillo Fuentes and the oldest brother of the Tijuana ‘Familia’, who immediately began yelling at ‘El Mayo’s’ son.

According to ‘El Vicentillo’, Benjamin Arellano Felix told him that he would seek revenge for the attack suffered at the Christine nightclub in Puerto Vallarta, so he warned him that he wanted to end his father’s life, while Amado Carrillo came out in defense of ‘El Mayo’.

Benjamin and my godfather Amado talked to me in the living room where they were, when I entered they were talking about a person named Rafael Aguilar Guajardo and they were saying that Benjamin asked my godfather to ally with them, the Arellano Felix, to kill my godfather Chapo and my father. My godfather Amado said, “I know you have a problem with Chapo, but it’s something you brought upon yourself,” and that was one of the reasons why he was there in Tijuana, to speak on behalf of my father. They didn’t want to have a problem, and if they wanted to kill my father, they had to kill him first,” reads the book by Anabel Hernandez.

Zambada Niebla claims that when the conversation became tense, Benjamín began to yell at him in the face, telling him that soon he would end the life of his father, as well as ‘El Güero Palma’ and ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán.

The moment arrived when the situation became tense, I was there and the point came when Benjamín started shouting at me in the face, ‘he told me he was going to kill my father’, he said with many insults that ‘he was going to kill ‘El Chapo’ and ‘El Güero Palma’ as well’.

At the end of the meeting held in Tijuana, Carrillo Fuentes and the son of ‘El Señor del Sombrero’ left, but they did not want to go to their hotel because their lives were at risk. The Arellano Félix acted suddenly and could harm them.
