Federal forces carried out a massive operation targeting fuel theft across four municipalities in Nuevo León. This marks the second major operation of its kind in less than a month.
During the inspections conducted, a tunnel was discovered. Another tunnel. Yes—another tunnel in Nuevo León, allegedly used for illicit fuel siphoning. This report comes from César Martínez.
Personnel from federal agencies, supported by the National Guard, conducted simultaneous raids across Nuevo León. These operations took place in Salinas Victoria, San Pedro Garza García, Monterrey, and Escobedo.
In the first municipality, the facilities of the company McLou Transport were inspected, while in the second, offices belonging to the same company—located in the Valle Oriente district—were searched.
On its website, the company states that it specializes in the sale of diesel, gasoline, oils, and lubricants, as well as in the collection, transport, and handling of hazardous waste.
Authorities also raided two private residences: one located on Peral Street in the Cerrada de Anahuac neighborhood (Premier Sector) in the municipality of Escobedo, and another in the Sierra Alta neighborhood, south of Monterrey.
The federal agents involved established security perimeters around the properties while the investigations were underway. To date, no details have been released regarding the specific investigations that prompted these raids, nor have any potential findings been disclosed.
Separately, it was confirmed this Thursday that a clandestine tunnel—used for the illicit extraction of hydrocarbons—was discovered in Escobedo, situated in an area populated by trucking companies and parking depots for semi-trucks. For Milenio Noticias, this is César Martínez.
