Welcome. Good morning. In Guerrero, authorities dismantled a laboratory allegedly linked to the brother of Emma Coronel. Jorge Martínez has more information. Jorge, go ahead, we’re listening.
Good morning. Greetings. Good morning to the audience. Indeed, federal authorities dismantled a clandestine laboratory in Petatlán, Guerrero.
This laboratory had a significant capacity for the manufacture of synthetic drugs. And behind it could be Inés Omar Coronel Aispuro, brother of Emma Coronel Aispuro, wife of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
The operation was led by elements of the Mexican Navy in coordination with personnel from the Ministry of National Defense, the Attorney General’s Office, the National Guard, and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection.
According to information released by the authorities, approximately 24,920 liters and more than 12,200 kilograms of various chemical substances considered high-risk to health were seized at the site.
Just as well, the laboratory had the capacity to simultaneously produce methamphetamine and designer drugs such as Tusi.
This drug is pink in color and has become fashionable among young people, mainly in countries like Colombia, where Tusi is widely sold.
Here in Mexico, it has gradually gained ground, but it’s part of a new drug that is emerging and is now being used by young people, as well as synthetic opioids with characteristics very similar to synthetic drugs.
This is what the authorities have announced, adding that a camp was also secured where weapons, clothing, and tactical equipment were found, as well as various materials used by criminal groups to attack each other.
The drugs and weapons were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, and in the coming hours it will be determined whether there are any arrests or how the corresponding investigation will be carried out.
This blow, Samuel, to the operation amounts to approximately 30 million pesos, including the chemicals, the laboratory, and its capacity to manufacture synthetic drugs. Thank you, Jorge. We’re paying attention to this matter and keeping an eye on things.
