Thanks to the strategy to combat organized crime in Michoacán, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) has captured 46 alleged foreign criminals from six countries, who are linked to various criminal acts.
During 2025, as of June, through inter-institutional operations with the Ministry of National Defense (Defense), the Civil Guard has arrested 20 people of Venezuelan origin and 20 more from Colombia.
During these operations, three Americans and three other alleged perpetrators, originally from Honduras, Panama, and Peru, were also brought into the custody of authorities.
In total, two women and 44 men were arrested by state and federal authorities. They are accused of belonging to organized crime groups and of their involvement in crimes such as arms and drug trafficking, vehicle theft, and extortion, among others.
With these actions, the Government of Michoacán guarantees the implementation of the security plan to combat crime, to deter the commission of high-impact crimes.
