What happened
Nayarit prosecutor Ludmila Heredia Verdugo said investigators found that groups linked to violence generators received advance information about the governor's agenda and flights through messaging groups and a later-identified application.
Reporting and context
NTV Nayarit reported that groups linked to violence generators received confidential information about the Nayarit governor's agenda and knew who was traveling on his commercial or private flights. State prosecutor Ludmila Heredia Verdugo said investigators had found since February that the governor's agenda was being leaked one day in advance through WhatsApp groups used by “halcones” and violence generators, and later through an application identified in the source as Thereema Private.
According to NTV Nayarit, the Fiscalía recommended changing the personnel who could access the information and changes were made to the governor's security team. Heredia said the investigation advanced after a man identified as Williams, who was linked to “Talibán dos,” turned over five cellphones and explained the origin and contents of each device.
The prosecutor said the phones helped investigators establish that the groups knew the governor's air movements, including trips decided at the last minute, as well as the identities of people aboard the aircraft. The report does not identify a public criminal charge against a named suspect in connection with the alleged leaks.
