Sinaloa’s security secretariat said an anonymous tip led officers to Lomas del Sol, where four men were detained and firearms, grenades, ammunition and suspected fentanyl and cocaine were seized.
Reporting and context
Four men were arrested in Culiacán after an anonymous report led police to a home in Lomas del Sol, according to the Sinaloa Public Security Secretariat. Authorities said they seized firearms, grenades and suspected drugs during the operation.
The secretariat reported that officers responded to a tip through the 089 anonymous reporting line about armed civilians at the address. At the scene, they found a vehicle whose occupants quickly got out and attempted to flee. Police detained them during the deployment, the statement said.
Members of the Sinaloa Special Operations Group, part of the State Preventive Police, took part in coordination with the interagency security group. The release described four men being detained but did not provide their names or identify a cartel affiliation.
The reported seizure included 588 linked rounds of 5.56-by-45-millimeter ammunition, 50 suspected fentanyl tablets weighing approximately 12 grams, and 200 doses of suspected cocaine weighing about 113 grams. Those figures describe this operation. The substances were identified as suspected drugs in the original statement.
The detainees and seized items were turned over to the competent authority for investigation and the corresponding proceedings, the secretariat said. Its account did not announce a court ruling or specify charges filed against the four men.
