Alphonse Mucha exhibition opens at Mexico City’s Museo Kaluz

Alphonse Mucha’s work is on display in Mexico for the first time in an exhibition at the Museo Kaluz in Mexico City’s Historic Center. The show, titled “Alphonse Mucha: The Magic of the Line,” brings together nearly 130 posters, illustrations, lithographs, objects and drawings by the Czech artist, along with an immersive Art Nouveau experience.

According to Infobae México, the exhibition opened to the public on Oct. 9 and will remain on view through Feb. 8, 2027. The museum organized the show with the Mucha Foundation, with curators Tomoko Sato and Elizabeth Brooke, and the exhibition traces Mucha’s development from his childhood in Moravia and European training to the visual language that made him internationally known.

Infobae México reported that the exhibition includes work connected to Mucha’s six-year collaboration with actress Sarah Bernhardt, which ran from 1895 to 1900, as well as references to his advertising work and decorative panels. A separate immersive installation produced by Paris’s Grand Palais Immersif lasts 30 minutes and uses three videos and 11 large-format projections to present his influence on Art Nouveau, comics and Japanese manga.

The museum also plans talks, concerts, family workshops and a Museum Night event. General admission costs 150 Mexican pesos, while teachers, students and people with INAPAM credentials pay 75 pesos; entry is organized in 30-minute timeslots between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The exhibition’s source report is available from Infobae México at https://www.infobae.com/mexico/2026/10/09/alphonse-mucha-llega-por-primera-vez-a-mexico-museo-kaluz-presenta-mas-de-130-obras-del-artista-que-transformo-el-arte-decorativo.
