Tenoch Huerta revisits allegations
Original reporting: Infobae México
What happened
Actor Tenoch Huerta told Adela Micha that the sexual-violence allegations against him never became a formal case and that his family received threats; he also described an extortion message and alleged pressure to end his career.
Reporting and context
Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta spoke publicly for the first time in three years about sexual-violence allegations against him, telling interviewer Adela Micha that the entertainment industry deliberately worked to exclude him. Infobae México reported that Huerta also said his family received death threats during the dispute and that the public accusation never became a formal legal case.
According to Infobae México, Huerta said his legal team commissioned psychological and psychiatric analysis of conversations with the complainant. He maintained that the allegations changed three times and denied an accusation that he removed a condom without consent, saying the two never used one. Huerta also said entertainment-platform executives discussed pushing him out and linked the alleged campaign against him to his earlier activism against racism in Mexico’s audiovisual industry.
Huerta told Micha that his family received an extortion message while he was visiting a relative in Morelia. He said he reported it to prosecutors, who determined that the sender’s unregistered phone originated in Mexico City but could not be precisely traced. Infobae México reported that Huerta did not directly accuse the complainant of sending that message. He also questioned media coverage of the allegations and said the complainant’s current position as a federal deputy has affected investigations he says involve her and her family.
