Reporting and context
A Mexico City judge ordered Daniel “N,” known as “El Esfera,” to stand trial for his probable participation in the attempted aggravated homicide of two people and aggravated gang robbery in Iztapalapa, according to the city attorney general’s office.
The incidents occurred on February 6, 2026, in the Consejo Agrarista Mexicano neighborhood. Investigators said two men arrived at a home and saw about eight people leaving, including Daniel “N,” who allegedly shot at them. Both men were wounded. Prosecutors also said members of the group had previously entered the home through a balcony and taken 1.02 million pesos from a safe beneath a bed.
The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office identified Daniel “N” as a probable operator of La Glendisa, a criminal group that emerged from a split in Los Richies. According to the investigation, the group has been linked to alleged drug sales, extortion and homicides in parts of Iztapalapa. El Financiero reported that one victim later recognized Daniel “N” on social media in July, after learning he had been detained in another case.
Investigators carried out identification procedures and gathered evidence to request an arrest warrant. Police executed the warrant on September 30 at the Reclusorio Preventivo Varonil Norte, where Daniel “N” was already held in a separate case involving alleged drug-related offenses. At an October 1 hearing, a judge ordered him to remain in pretrial detention and set a two-month period to complete the additional investigation.
