Residents Accuse Mexican Army of Overreach During Escuinapa Operation

An operation by the Mexican Army took place Tuesday in the center of Escuinapa, Sinaloa. Residents say soldiers moved into the downtown area quickly, with patrols spreading through several streets near the municipal center as people nearby stepped back and businesses shut their doors.

After the operation, some locals began accusing soldiers of abusing their authority, saying troops entered properties during the search. So far, authorities have not explained what exactly triggered the deployment. The video below shows part of what residents recorded during the moment.
