“La Barquita,” Leader of La Mayiza’s Hit Squad, is Killed After a Chase in Manzanillo, Colima

We now turn to Colima, where an armed attack and a chase took place this afternoon in the municipality of Manzanillo, right on Miguel de la Madrid Boulevard. 

The assailants were chasing a man who was driving a white vehicle. Upon reaching Punta Bahía, the driver lost control of the vehicle. It crashed, as you can see, into a palm tree. Earlier, the white car had also collided with other vehicles. 

The incident caused panic among passersby and people in nearby businesses. Authorities confirmed the death of the head of the hit squad for the Sinaloa Cartel’s Mayiza faction, César Gabriel Cepeda, alias La Barquita. This was part of what happened there in Manzanillo.
