The Chapitos alliance with Cartel Jalisco New Generation, known as the FEU, is circulating a message urging civilians to report Volteados “turncoats”—groups accused of betraying the Chapitos—with promises of rewards for key information. The areas mentioned include Navolato and the surrounding communities.
I have been told that the last of the turncoats abandoned by Mayito Flaco are hiding in this area. I have spent time in Navolato, Sinaloa, and it’s an important area. Mayito Flaco sold a pipe dream of promotion, riches, and support to the Volteados. A few weeks ago Mayito Flaco had no choice but to abandon them after a series of losses on multiple fronts.
The Mayiza mob is far from dead, but over the last three weeks, they have been racking up losses against the government and their enemies. Mayito Flaco has also lost a key ally in Chapo Isidro. The Chapitos tell me that they have received dozens of reports today on their tip line and “are taking care of business.”
