Cartel Insider is an independent journalism platform founded in 2022 and dedicated to exposing the inner workings of Mexico’s drug cartels through exclusive reporting, visual evidence, and verified intelligence. Created by Mica Treviño, a respected investigative journalist with over two decades of field experience, the platform cuts through speculation and sensationalism—delivering facts from the ground up.

We document what others won’t. Through confidential sources, encrypted communications, and a network of trusted insiders, Cartel Insider brings you the raw realities of organized crime across Mexico and the U.S. border. Our stories are based on primary information—photos, videos, documents, and audio sent directly from those involved, from high-level operatives to local witnesses.

We also recognize the work of others who paved the way. Sol Prendido, whose digital voice kept narco news alive when few dared speak, helped build the foundation for this kind of reporting. What he did in real time—sharing, warning, documenting—is part of the DNA of this platform.
