Authorities dismantled a property located in Nuevo Leon used as a clandestine laboratory and also seized more than half a ton of methamphetamine, resulting in the arrest of five individuals.
The first arrest was that of José “V”, an individual who was driving a vehicle carrying several packages of drugs. Specifically, authorities reported that this individual had just over 503 kilograms of methamphetamine, a substance that was distributed in 10 sacks.
But in addition, the officers identified that the van in which José “V” was traveling was being escorted by two other units, one of them with Coahuila plates and another van with Nuevo León plates. In said vehicles, the other detained individuals were traveling, who were identified as Sabas “F”, Gregorio “B”, Daniel “L” and Jaír “A”.

The individuals travelling in the escort vehicles were carrying 12 live cartridges, as well as a couple of packages weighing 400 grams of methamphetamine. While the first arrest was made on Boulevard José López Portillo, the remaining individuals were detained on Clavel street, both locations in the municipality of Escobedo.
On the other hand, the search was carried out after the detention and prosecution of the mentioned individuals who are currently under mandatory pre-trial detention accused of drug crimes. The review of the property located in the Andres Caballero neighborhood resulted in the seizure of chemical substances and tools.
“At the site, various sacks, bundles, and barrels were secured containing: acetone, acetic acid, tartaric acid, lead acetate, caustic soda, as well as digital scales, hydraulic pumps, and a container with an alleged motor for mixing,” reported the Office of the Attorney General (FGR) in a statement shared on Wednesday March 13th.

In the images shared by the authorities, you can see the bundles and part of the machinery used on the site. Some of the substances were in white sacks and others in black bags. The FGR had the support of several security institutions: the Army, Civil Force, and the Police of Escobedo.
At the moment, it is not known which criminal group the detained individuals are associated with.
The information about the subjects and the insured property was shared on the same day that a shooting occurred in the center of Monterrey, resulting in the arrest of two people. Early reports indicated that gunshots happened on Juarez Avenue and Espinoza Street.
A video circulated on social media, showing security agents performing traffic control cuts in the area.
In the states located in the northern part of the country, various seizures of illicit substances have been reported, for example on Tuesday, March 13th, the FGR (Attorney General’s Office) informed about the seizure of more than two tons of marijuana in Mexicali.
Similar to what happened in Nuevo Leon, security agents obtained information that there would be a property with drugs after the capture of a man, specifically in the Pórticos del Valle neighborhood, where two tons, 225 kilos, and 570 grams of marijuana were located.
“Members of the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) arrested a person with two rectangular packages containing marijuana inside a vehicle, outside a property located in the vicinity of the Pórticos del Valle neighborhood, where it was suspected that more drugs were being stored,” stated the FGR in a statement.
