A few moments ago, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, ICE, reported that it had arrested a Mexican national accused of narco-terrorism. The individual has been identified as Roberto Beto Basán Salinas.
He is believed to be linked to the Gulf Cartel and is accused of drug smuggling. According to ICE, the man was arrested in Salamanca, in Guanajuato. Yes, an arrest in Mexico reported by the US authorities.
A search warrant was issued for this man and now his arrest has been declared. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) expresses gratitude for the collaboration with Mexican authorities and lists the ICE offices involved.
They mentioned the ICE office in Monterrey, Nuevo León, the ICE office in Matamoros, and other U.S. agency locations. Thus, a drug trafficker was captured by the United States and Mexico, but the United States is the one taking credit for the arrest.
